Researchers at Brigham Young University, US has come up with the results of the research. This research study was published in the Journal of Affective Disorders.

As per the research study, the mental and emotional health of the person depend on the amount of time he/she soak in the sun between sunrise and sunset.
The researchers focused mostly on a clinical population instead of a general population. This study clearly showed that there is a sharp spike in distress among the people who stays away from the sun.
This study used a mental health treatment outcome as a measure to examine several aspects of psychological distress. The study didn’t rely on suicide attempts or online diaries.
